This project tested how real-time 3D point cloud video could enhance collaboration between a user in a mixed reality space and a remote participant in virtual reality. Live volumetric captures from stereoscopic depth cameras enabled both to interact with digital and physical elements as if sharing the same space.
The prototype enhanced co-presence and made design discussions more intuitive, revealing opportunities for improvement in capture precision and clarity. Though still in the research stage, it showed strong potential for applications in design, architecture, and remote collaboration.
